The British Invasion of 2020
As the year comes to an end and we say good-bye to 2020, we can assign many labels to the year past such as the “COVID Armageddon”, “Year From Hell” and others with more colorful language. But I’d be remissive if I failed to highlight a phenomenon that occurred in Hip-Hop and R&B music — “The British Invasion of 2020“!
For the young and restless, the British Invasion was a cultural phenomenon of the mid-1960s, when rock and pop music bands from the United Kingdom and other traits of British culture became popular in the United States giving significance to the rising counter-culture on both sides of the of the pond (Atlantic Ocean). The that music-invasion produced rock star groups and artists like The Beatles, The Dave Clark Five, The Hollies, Donovan, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Zombies and more.
This time around as history repeats itself, the Brit-Brigade is making contributions to the genres of Hip-Hop and R&B with hot talent like Dizzee Rascal, D-Block Europe, Hardy Caprio, and the very talented and lovely Miss La Familia whom is sure to blaze the scene hot girl style with lyrical parallels to Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B.
Look for all these UK artists already getting plenty of U.S. radio airplay with more to come… Dizzee Rascal, Big Heath, Avelino, KSI, Mist, Krept & Konan, D-Block Europe, Stay Flee Get Lizzy, Stormzy, Miss La Familia, Wauve, Geko, Nines, Icy Lando, MoStack, AJ Tracey, Predz UK, Darkoo & Hardy Caprio, Gracious K, Bugzy Malone, Ghetts & Skepta, Blanco, Tana, and Tion Wayne.
